SHED65 is an immersive learning experience designed by Newton in collaboration with SDA Bocconi School of Management to train and exercise leadership in complex and uncertain contexts. The contemporary world is highly interconnected and interdependent.
This complexity leads each of us to constantly face compromises…, unexpected events, ambiguities and paradoxes. And our choices can have systemic effects for the entire community in which we operate and potentially global consequences.
Expressing leadership in the digital age means developing an awareness of the context in which we operate, thus being able to interpret reality, observe it from multiple points of view and minimize the negative effects of our actions on the system.
In short, leadership means above all “thinking well” and “acting for the common good”.
“Thinking and acting well” is the basis of the concept of wisdom. *
It means using intelligence, creativity, and knowledge to achieve a common goal by balancing personal, interpersonal, and extra-personal interests.
It means governing the short- and long-term effects, adapting to the environment and modifying it to make it more favourable to the desired result.

At each decision-making juncture in the short movie, participants are asked to understand which are the most generative questions to arrive at the best decision.
At the end of the learning experience a profile (personal or team) is provided on the ability to exercise leadership in complex contexts.
The exercise of leadership in complex contexts is based on 4 enablers. By ‘enablers’ we mean a set of skills, attitudes, traits and value orientations which, when combined, foster the emergence of ‘wise’ thinking and acting.
However, this set of wisdom enablers can be hindered by four inhibiting elements – cognitive traps, traits, and practices – that trigger automatisms of thought and action.
